I'm 99% sure when I first started playing EVE about 9 months ago, I got a message relating to my clone. I was approaching a number of skillpoints that was soon going to exceed my current clones skillpoint coverage.
I swear I remember the message saying something similar to:
Your clone is almost out of date you should renew it at the nearest clone facilities. Does anyone remember anything similar?
I ask because I podded myself twice recently to quick travel. Then i check my inbox and it deduced 300k then 600k skillpoints from Gallente Cruise V. OMFG!!!!
I now can't fly my deimos and it will require a further 23 days to train back to level 5. I'm completely shocked there's no warning about this or that it's been removed.
With the risk of moaning approaching, there's so much in EVE to be thinking about than small stupid things like this. I just can't believe I wasn't warned.
Why not a "warning, you're set to auto destruct and your current clone is out of date message". It's just what you'd expect isn't it? A safe guard to protect the player for being bloody furious. I'm so damn furious.

I guess I've learned the hard way. Just seems like a basic game design flaws.
I have jump clones, just needed to clone jump earlier than 24 hours. What's up with limiting clone jumps too? And annoying messages such as, "I'm just getting my barings I think I can do that in about 20 seconds" lol wtf..? That's really enhancing my game experience. Genius whoever thought of that, genius.
I'm going to be sick training this to level 5 again. CRY.

Yeah you're right, it doesn't have a lot of logic to it. I've noticed a lot of people stress if you even slighty complain about a part of the game. But in reality...I would only moan because I want things to be better and to promote discussion about eve related features.
Again, I haven't played WOW the dominant MMO game in this market, but I would doubt they have a an easy way to lose skill points like EVE does. Granted some of the fault lies with me for not thinking about it but it's fairly simple to avoid ticking a player off like this. Especially if I've gone and bought a clone covering 20m skillpoints when I have barely 12. In such a long time you can easily forget.
I'd like to see caldari navy assembly plant 4-4 in jita have two exits as well. Idiots always park thier freighters right infront of the undocking bay and you get all these damn ships bumping into each other and screwing up thier warp.
Back to flying BC for now.

Originally by: Elex Akat You being an idiot and not following the golden rule of "Always keep your clone up to date" doesn't make the game mechanics flawed, it makes you flawed.
There's always someone with an attitude on here lol.
There's nothing unreasonable about giving the player a warning, there isn't one.
I guess Mr Perfect has never made a noob mistake, error and encountered anything annoying in the perfect game that is EVE right? It happens to everyone.
Hypocrite. |
